Classroom Rules:

Discipline-

Green :) -Perfect Day
Yellow -  Warning
Orange– Walk 10 minutes at recess
Purple-  Walk 20 minutes at recess (Parent contact)
Red-      Unacceptable (write up and go to the office) Parent contact

 

You will receive a calendar that I will mark daily to indicate your child’s behavior each day. You must sign and return daily.   

  

 Read for 20 minutues daily and study Math facts daily. 
 

Standards to work on second weeks:

Math Skills:   

* Count to 60 by ones and to 100 by 10's

* Write and represent numbers 0-20

* count and work with numbers  0-20

* count forward starting with any number 1-20

* count to answer" how many" with numbers 0-20 in a line and in an array.
* sort objects into categories : count the number of objects in each category 
   up to 20.

* correctly name two-dimensional (flat) and three-dimensional shapes (fat)  

   triangle,rectangle, circle, square, hexagon, rhombus, sphere, cylinder, cone  

   and cube.

 * Tell wheter objects in a group are greater than, less than or equal t
* describe measurable attributes such as length and weight.
* compare two objects to see which one has moreof/ less of
* Can show addition in many ways

 Writing names First and Last

 Phonics:  We are starting Sipps Phonics Jan. 8 and it's very important to have your child at school before 8:00.  The students will rotate to different teachers depending on their level. 

Review letters and review sounds : Aa , Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm, Nn, Oo, Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss,Tt,Uu,Vv, Ww, Xx,Yy,Zz

 Language Arts: 

* Follow words left to right, top to bottom, page by page: recognize and name all upper/ lower case letters.
* Identify front cover, back cover and title page of a book
* actively engage in group reading activities with purpose and understanding.
* The students can tell and draw and write stories.
* Uses grade appropriate grammar when writing and speaking. 
* The student participaes in conversations with different partners: ask and answers questions to gain understanding. 
*The student can confirm understanding from text or oral information by asking and aswering questions: share thinking about familiar events.
* The student can add drawings or models to share additional details. 

Your child may bring a snack and small drink.
