About the Teacher

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Marketing from Mississippi State University (MSU)

Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Mississippi University for Women (MUW)

My practicum experiences during graduate school included inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, preschool, elementary school, and skilled nursing facility, as well as Mississippi State University's TK Martin Center for Technology and Disability ("Camp Jabber Jaw"). During graduate school, I was recognized by the Mississippi Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA) and presented with the Amanda Cossey Price Celebration of Life Award. I was also recognized by Mississippi University for Women's Speech-Language Pathology Department and presented with the Dr. Francis A. Griffith Award for Clinical Achievement. These awards were completely unexpected, and I will forever be grateful to be the recipient of both.

During my professional career, I've had the opportunity to participate in a variety of travel assignments working with school districts in North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee including preschool, lower and upper elementary, and middle school. My professional career has also included outpatient therapy from birth to senior care.

I truly love being a Speech-Language Pathologist!

Personal Info:

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, MS. I lived there until after graduate school, at which time I began participating in travel work assignments. Although I loved my time traveling, I am thankful to be back in Mississippi near my family! In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy playing with my Yorkie, Lucy Kate! She is a four pound cutie full of personality.

Fun Facts: Two of my favorite things are coffee and pickles. Oddly, I'm allergic to bananas!
